![]() Spring is here. It was snowing today, but that's okay with me. It did not stick and now the sun is shining again. Things are turning green and budding on the branches. It just feels good to see the life come back into flow after the winter resting of things. Spring causes me to think of the thymus gland. As a reflexologist I would like to share some simple information on this amazing part of your body that does so much more than you would think. The thymus gland is located in the middle of your chest above your heart. It is a part of your endocrine system that regulates and monitors energy flow within your body. It is important to keep your thymus gland healthy so it can do it's work to help you fight a good fight against intruders, so to speak. This gland plays a large role in your immune system, growth factor, strong muscular contractions, and the lymphatic system. When it is healthy or stimulated, it produces a will to live. The word thymus is of Greek origin and means life energy, your mental attitude and stress affects the thymus before any other organ. If you want to strengthen your thymus gland, smile...for real, or just pinch your cheeks. Love yourself, have faith, be thankful, be trusting, be courageous, and be forgiving. Listen to good, heartfelt happy music, a piano, guitar, or an old fashion music box. Stand close to a wind-chime and feel its vibration as it sings and dances in the breeze. Look at smiling, laughing people, watch a funny show. Speak good words out loud to yourself and others, speak life! Rub on your feet, 'the balls of your feet' and the top of your foot about two fingers width below your big toe in the crevice. Tap your feet together around the balls of your feet or pinch this area. Rub on your breast bone or poke around till you find a tender spot and put pressure on it. Walk around barefoot in the cool grass and breath deep. Spend time with nature sounds, water, birds singing, wind in the trees, and listen to the rain. Take a walk through a botanical garden. Enlarge your thymus gland. Empower it to fight for you. God created it to fight for your good and placed it next to your heart. If you want to diminish and weaken your thymus gland, taking away its power to heal, just frown. Be negative, be unforgiving, be unthankful, be fearful, be hateful, and be grouchy. Do not be heroic. Listen to angry or sad music. Watch violent and sad activities. Surround yourself with bitter people. Be judgmental. Speak evil of yourself and others, speak death... So whenever life's road gets a little rough, I hope this information helps. God created an amazing body and it is filled with wonderful gifts to help us along the way. I would like to thank Dr. Brinkerhoff for the knowledge he has gathered from around the world over the years, and his compassion for humanity. I hope you have enjoyed the read, and thank you for it!
Until next month take care of yourself and smile much, God bless.
